OBITUARY OF IDA A. EMRIE
Ida Adaline, second daughter of Sylvester and Harriet Chaplin, was born in Van Buren county, Iowa on April 27, 1871, and departed this life at the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas, on Jan. 3rd, 1926, aged 54 years, 8 months and 6 days.
When a small child she moved with her parents to Kansa where she lived until 1890, when the family returned to Iowa and located on a farm near Keosauqua, here she resided until January 13, 1910, when she was united in marriage to W. S. Emrie, and again went to Kansas, living there until death called her to her Heavenly home.
Early in life she accepted Christ as her Savior and has ever since lived true to her faith, being a member of the Christian church at St. John, Kansas.
She was a true and loving wife and forgetting self, her first thoughts were always for the loved ones, every ready to scatter sunshine and love to all her friends.
She leaves to mourn for her, the husband, her aged mother, three sisters, Clara J., Nellie S., and Edna P., two brothers-in-law Chas. W. Thomas and Thomas Harman, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. N. I. Workman, one niece, Mrs. Bessie D. Milligan, two nephews, Roy M. and Rexford T. Thomas, also her husband's children and grandchildren to whom she gave a true mother's love and care, they are Myrtle, now deceased, Lelah, Harold, Fred and Clara all of whom live in Kansas.
One grandson, Earl Emrie, was cared for in the home for a number of years, and will mourn as if for his own mother.
She also leaves many other relatives and friends.
Her father, one sister Mary E., one brother C. Wilber preceded her in death.
