GEORGE R. PARSON

George R. Parson, son of George and Ellen Rupe Parson, was born Sept. 2, 1905, near Mt. Sterling, and departed this life Friday, Dec. 30, 1966, at the Raymond Huff home near Keosauqua at the age of 61. His entire life was spent in Van Buren County. For many years he was employed on the Jennie Witt farm near Keosauqua and for the past year and eight months had been employed on the Huff farm.

Remaining to mourn his passing are an aunt, Mrs. Emma Miller of Keosauqua, two half-sisters, Mrs. Paul Jack of Keosauqua and Mrs. May Bruders of Fairfield, a number of cousins including Mrs. Raymond Huff and Mrs. Clarence Witt of Keosauqua, other relatives and many friends. His parents and a half-sister preceded him in death. Mr. Parson will be remembered for his quiet, good-natured manner, and his faithfulness to his work and family.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 2, 1966 at 2 P.M. at the Mt. Sterling Methodist church, with the Rev. Herbert Phillips, pastor, officiating. Vocalists were Mrs. Jerry Humble and Mrs. Gary Muir, accompanied by Mrs. Clell Parish. Pallbearers were Wallace Stotts, Dwight DeHart, Blaine DeHart, Robert Hervey, Melvin Keller and Robert Witt. Interment was in the Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. Arrangements were in charge of the Pedrick Funeral Home.
