ARTHUR C. MORRETT

The funeral for a former Farmington man, Arthur Cedric (Barney) Morrett, 60, of Fort Madison, was held Friday afternoon, March 17 in Clements Chapel, Fort Madison. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.

Mr. Morrett died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Fort Madison.

He was born Aug. 28, 1906 at Canton, Mo., the son of Daniel and Golda Hayes Morrett. He was employed by the North Central Public Service Company and before that was a carman for the Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years.

On Nov. 23, 1931 at Kahoka, Mo., he married Daisy D. Wood, who survives. He was a member of the First Christian church and the Gas Fitters Union Local 212 at Fort Madison. They moved to Fort Madison in 1942.

Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Pohlpeter, Mrs. Lloyd (Nancy) Wagner, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Blint, and Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Mayer, all of Fort Madison, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William.
