MARY G. McDOWELL

Mary Gleed McDowell was born to Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Mc Dowell at Delavan, Ill. on Dec. 5, 1882 and departed this life on Feb. 22, 1969 at the age of 86 years, two months and 17 days.

After her mother's death, she came to Iowa in 1911 to live with her sister and family, Mrs. G.W. Regur with whom she made her home until her sister's death in 1954. Of late years, with failing health, she was cared for in a Nursing Home where she passed away after a lingering illness.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church where she was a faithful worker as long as her health permitted. She was Sunday School Superintendent and an active worker in the Missionary Society. She was also a DAR and a 50 year member of the OES where she enjoyed being with her many friends.

She was the last of a family of nine children.

She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Alma Pawson of Long Beach, Calif.; two nephews, George Regur of Keosauqua and Hal Regur of Fredrickstown, Mo.; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tusday(Tuesday), Feb. 25, at the Keosauqua Christian Church at 2 p.m. with Howard McPeak, pastor, officiating. Burial was on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Prairie View Cemetery at Delavan, Ill.
