Glenn B. Jannings

Glenn B. Jannings, 65, of rural route Donnellson, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, enroute to a hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Graham Hospital, Keokuk. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Jannings was born Jan. 31, 1898 near Mount Pleasant, the son of Walter Bryan and Nellie Sarah Harper Jannings.

He was a farmer and spent most of his adult life in Lee county. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Jannings was active in 4-H Club work, and was a member of the Lee County Board of Education a number of years. He was a director of the Farmington Cooperative Creamery Association and a member of the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce.

On June 4, 1924 near Donnellson, he married Myra Goebel, who survives.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Moore of New London and Mrs. William Marsh of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Dresser of Donnellson; five brothers, Russell of Newbern, Tenn., Rex of Hillsboro, Waldo of Milton, Dale of Keokuk and Kenneth of Denver, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church at Farmington with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington.
