CARROLL R. KEMP

Carroll Richard Kemp, son of Mrs. Paul Kemp of Fairfield and the late Paul Kemp, was killed instantly February 10, when a 30 ft. mesh of steel fell on him. The steel was reinforcement for a pier for a bridge being built over the Salmon River near Whitebird, Idaho.

He was born at Harlan, Iowa on November 8, 1924. He lived several years in Douds, Ia., until he enlisted in the Army in January, 1943. He served with Pattons Army in Europe and won several decorations along with the Purple Heart.

He married Eleanor Robertson at Rapid City on November 21, 1952. She and five children survive along with his mother, five brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Bozaman with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery on Feb. 14.
