MRS. JANIECE HELTON

Mrs. Janiece Piper Helton, 43, died at San Diego, Calif., on Tuesday, Mar. 21, 1967.

She was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Scotland County, Mo., the daughter of Joseph L. and Bessie Davis Piper. She married William E. Helton, who survives.

Also surviving are her father and three brothers, Leo of Des Moine, I.H. Piper of West Bend, Wisc., and Clell of Santa Monica, Calif.

Services were held at the Mt. Sterling church, Friday, Mar. 24 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Herbert Phillips officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

JANICE PIPER HELTON

Funeral services for Janice Piper Helton were held Friday, March 24, 1967 at 1 P.M. at the Mt. Sterling church with the Rev. Herbert E. Phillips officiating. She passed away in a hospital in San Diego, Calif., March 21. She had been in failing health since January, 1965.

Janice was the daughter of J.L. and Bessie Davis Piper born Aug. 20, 1923 in Scotland County, Mo. She spent most of her childhood in and around the vicinity. Later moving with her mother and brothers to Des Moines where she attended school. She and her mother moved from there to Milwaukee, Wisc., and from there to Aurora, Colo., where she found employment in the Fitzsimmons Hospital from Aug. 1950-1956. While there she met and was married to William E. Helton Oct. 5, 1952. In 1956 she and Bill moved to San Diego, Calif., where they were both employed for the Navy. She worked there till 1960. In 1962 they opened an antique shop close to their home where she spent many happy hours. Her quick sense of humor and sincere interest in people and her work soon won for her many new friends. All will feel her death is their loss. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1953. She is survived by three brothers, Leo of Des Moines, Lloyd of West Bend, Wisc., Clell of Santa Monica, Calif., four nieces and five nephews. Three aunts, Elsie Judd of Mt. Sterling, Lela Morris and Gladys Davis, and one great-aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Kerr, all of Cantril. The husband also survives.

Burial was in the Harness Cemetery, near Mt. Sterling.
