MERLE HESSELGESSER

Services for Merle Hesselgesser, 69, were held Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. at the Pedrick Funeral home, Douds.

Rites were conducted by the Rev. G. Basil Tadlock. Burial and graveside services were held at 3 p.m. in Elm Grove cemetery at Washington.

Hesselgesser died Wednesday, May 19 following a heart attack at his farm home near Keosauqua. He had lived on farms in the Keosauqua and Douds areas since 1923.

The son of Homer and Mary Killian Hesselgesser, he was born April 18, 1896 at Wilton Junction. He was married to Sarah Morrow Feb. 24, 1923.

Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Campbell, Keswick, and Mrs. Mary Mullins, Chariton; five grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah and Cecile Hesselgesser, both of Washington, Mrs. Naomi Rehfeldt of Chicago and Mrs. Laura Darbishire of West Chester.
