Mrs. Jennie L. Duke
Last rites were held Friday, Jan. 10, at Birmingham for Mrs. Jennie L. Duke, 95, who died Wednesday morning, Jan. 8 at Mankato, Minn.
The services were held at 2 p.m. at the Burch funeral home in Birmingham with the Rev. Wayne Lowry in charge. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Jennie L. Duke was born Jan. 1, 1869, the daughter of Ben and Mary Lee, and spent most of her life in the Birmingham community. She was married to Elmer Duke who passed away Feb. 5, 1944.
For the past few years she has been making her home with her daughters.
Mrs. Duke is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Lucille Northrup, Mankato, Minn.; Mrs. Darlene Keeler, Naperville, Ill.; and Mrs. Gertrude Nelson, Sequim, Wash.; also a brother, B.J. Lee, Shannon City, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. J.L. Cochran, Van West, Ia.; and three grandchildren.
