Ralph L. Dodds

Ralph L. Dodds, 77, died Saturday, May 18 at 4:40 P.M. at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. He had been in failing health for several years.

He was born Dec. 30, 1890, in Harrisburg Twp., the son of John F. and Sallie Keck Dodds. He spent his life farming.

He was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I, a 50-year member of the American Legion Sargeant-Osweiler Unit 563 at Bonaparte, Iowa.

He was married to Edith Barber on Oct. 30, 1920, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Yenter of LaBelle, Mo., two sons, Keith Dodds of Iowa City and John Dodds of Fairfield, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, one granddaughter and four grandsons, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.

Services were held Tuesday, May 21 at 2 P.M. at the Harrisburg Church with the Rev. David Diercks officiating. Burial was in the Vale Cemetery.
