MRS. J.L. DOWNARD

Mrs. Justina (Bohun) Downard, 85, died Sunday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m. at her home near Keosauqua.

Born in Germany, Nov. 9, 1880, she came to the United States when two years of age. She married J.L. Downard Feb. 15, 1906, at Blair, Pa. and he died in 1950. Mrs. Downard resided at Keosauqua 29 years.

She was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include six sons, Roy of Franklin Park, Ill.; Dale of Knoxville, Robert of Peoria, Ill.; Verne and Orlen of Keosauqua; four daughters, Mrs. Francis Daniel of Glenview, Ill.; Mrs. Roberta Lerche of Wellington, Kan.; Mrs. Marguerite Archibald and Mrs. Ruth Vickerman, both of Keosauqua.

Besides her husband, a son, John, preceded her in death.

The service was held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church with the Rev. Larry McAdoo officiating. Burial was in Miller Chapel Cemetery, northeast of Keosauqua.
