OLIVER PERRY ROSS DIED HERE SUNDAY

Oliver Perry Ross, 72, died at his home in Keosauqua after having been ill for the past 15 years. Funeral services were conducted at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with his pastor, the Rev. Burton C. Bastuscheck, in charge. Burial was in the Fellows cemetery in Keosauqua.

The son of W.H. and Viana Lucas Ross, Mr. Ross was born in Brown County, Ohio, on June 2nd, 1877. He was the last of a family of five children. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

In early life, Mr. Ross was married to Ivy McKindry, who died in 1901. Mr. I.R. Ross, the only child to this marriage, survives. There is also one grandson, Robert Ross.

In 1908, Mr. Ross was united in marriage with Edith Brownlee, who survives. He had worked as a barber for many years at Bonaparte, Keokuk and Keosauqua, until ill health forced him to discontinue his work.

Fifty-two years ago, Mr. Ross united with the Christian church at Downing, Missouri. He was a member of the Keosauqua Methodist church at the time of his death.
