Mrs. Josephine Cocherell

Mrs. Josephine Cocherell, 90, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday at her home in Keosauqua. She suffered a stroke April 23 and had been an invalid since suffering a broken hip two years ago.

She was born at Vernon August 6, 1861, the daughter of Joshua Cook and Julia Wirt. She spent her life in Van Buren county. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Cocherell was preceded in death by her husband, William, and two sons, Arthur and Curt. A daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martha Cocherell, lives in the home in Keosauqua and the other daughter-in-law is Mrs. Grace Cocherell of Bonaparte. She is also survived by three grandchildren, one of them being Willard Cocherell of Bonaparte, and five great-grandchildren. Four brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Burton C. Bastuscheck officiating. Burial was in Keosauqua Purdom cemetery.
