Mary Frances Kurtz

Mary Frances Kurtz, 84, owner and occupant of the Mason House at Bentonsport, was found dead in a chair at her home the morning 24. Kate Morris had gone to the Kurtz home to do some cleaning and could not get in, she notified storekeeper, H.E. Blount and he crawled through a window and found Mrs. Kurtz dead in a rocking chair at 8:50 a.m. Mrs. Kurtz had attended a meeting in Bonaparte a few days before and her sudden death was a shock to her many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 27 at 3 p.m. in the Bentonsport Presbyterian church. First Reader Mrs. Bush Hartman officiated. Burial was in Bentonsport cemetery.

Survivors are two grandchildren, Mrs. Mary Frances Spradling and Mason Rice Kurtz, both of Washington, D.C.; one great-grandchild, Mason Spradling of Washington, D.C.; three nieces, Mrs. Kathryn Moore, Eldridge, Bentonville, Ark.; Mrs. Mary Frances Moore Church, Kansas City, Kan., and Mary Frances Glovis, Hamden, Conn.; one nephew, Albert Mason, South Pasadena, Calif.
