Funeral services for Ernest Campbell, 69, who died Thursday, June 18 in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21 in the Keosauqua Methodist Church with the Rev. E.S. Tschetter officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Mr. Campbell was a retired rural mail carrier, serving Mount Sterling and Keosauqua for 23 years. He was a past commander of Beer-Barker Post, Keosauqua, a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the World War I Barracks.

He was first married to Lela Beel of Mount Sterling in 1025. She died in 1934, and in 1937 he married Madelon Simmons of Fairfield who survives him.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Anna Ruth Lundgren of Danville, Calif., and a son, Keith Campbell of Fairfield, by his first marriage. Five sons and a daughter survive from his second marriage. They are David of El Paso, Tex., Richard of Fairfield, and Michael, Norman, Danny and Kay of Keosauqua.

Two sisters, Mrs. Ora Gibson of Mount Sterling and Mrs. Alice Cortum of Pulaski also survive. There are 10 grandchildren.
