Rebecca Grimsley

Rebecca Rambo Grimsley, daughter of George and Jane Farr Rambo, was born on a farm near Leando April 10, 1872, and departed this life at Sunnyslope Sanitorium at Ottumwa, Iowa May 8, 1961, at the age of 89 years and one month. She was the last surviving member of a family of thirteen children. She was united in marriage to Thomas Grimsley, who preceded her in death in 1932.

At an early age she united with the Methodist church, and was a faithful member until death. She also was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and served as long as her health permitted.

Her passing will be mourned by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 1961 at Christ Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Lowell Hoyle, pastor and the Rev. Harold Harryman of Milton officiating. Vocalists were Mrs. Keith A. Smith and Mrs. Robert Pedrick, accompanied by Mrs. Max Caves. Nephews served as pall bearers. Interment was in the Leando cemetery.
