ESTHER M. HAGLER

Esther Mary Hagler went to her heavenly home Nov. 23, 1960 at the age of 64 years and 7 days. She was the daughter of Louis R. and Mary Ummell Slonaker; was born Nov. 16, 1896 five miles southwest of Milton, received her schooling in Davis county and later became a resident of the Milton community.

She was united in marriage to Roulette Hagler June 15, 1919. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. E. W. Ryan of Muscatine.

She was a member of the Grace Methodist church of Milton which was her joy and comfort, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Friendship club.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and one sister, Mrs. Addie Foster.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Roulette; a devoted daughter, Mrs. E. W. Ryan; three dear sisters, Mrs. D. C. Cowles, Mrs. E. M. Cowles of Pulaski and Mrs. W. C. Clayton of Douds; and one dear brother, E. H. Slonaker of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Michael J. and Sheila Jane Ryan, who gave her many hours of enjoyment; a wonderful son-in-law E. W. Ryan of Muscatine; and a number of loved nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Grace Methodist church in Milton on Friday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside cemetery.
