Mrs. Ella Scholl

Ella Poe Scholl, daughter of T.G. and Adeline Poe, was born March 19, 1865 at Mounsville, West Virginia; and departed this life at her home in Detroit, Michigan, May 27, 1958, at the age of 93 years, two months and eight days.

At the age of nine months her family moved to a farm near Memphis, Missouri. Here she grew to young womanhood. On March 12, 1885, she was united in marriage to J.V. Scholl. To this union was born five children;; Chandler E. and Henderson P. of Detroit, Michigan; Ethel Sears of Bentonsport, Iowa; Opal Shaw of Monmouth, Illinois, and John, who passed away Augut(sp)20, 1933. Following the death of her husband, January 13, 1930, she moved to Detroit where she has made her home.

At an early age she united with the South Prairie Chapel Methodist church near Milton and later transferred her membership to the Grace church near Milton and later transferred her membership to the Grace Methodist church of Milton where she remained a member until her death.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her son, John; a step-son, Jake; six sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are four children; one sister, Mrs. Grace Hawking, Chadron, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Grace Methodist church in Milton on Saturday, May 31, 1958 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside cemetery.
