Helen Lindsay Ricketts

Helen Lindsay Ricketts was born near Birmingham, Iowa, April 1, 1896 and passed away May 9, 1961 at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, New York. She was the daughter of Samuel E. and Mary Brown Lindsay. Canandaigua had been her home since 1933. In that year the Veterans Hospital was established and opened there, and for many years she was the secretary to the manager of this hospital. She retired from the government service in 1951. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Canandaigua.

Helen is survived by these brothers and sisters: Dr. Samuel Lindsay, Bonaparte, Ia.; Lester Lindsay, Birmingham, Ia.; Mrs. Ethel Stevens, Monroe City, Mo. and Alma Lindsay, Birmingham, Ia.; also by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Rex, and a sister, Lulu.

Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Canandaigua, Thursday, May 11 at 2:00 P.M. A final service was held at the Burch Funeral Home Birmingham, on Saturday afternoon, May 13, at 2:00 o'clock.
