Francis Standley

Francis Henry Standley, 70-year-old Mt. Pleasant farmer, died in Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant, at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 29.

Last rites were held at the Hickory Grove Friends church, of which Standley was a member, at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 2. The officiant was O.T. Wilson of Mt. Pleasant. Burial was at Hickory Grove.

Standley was the son of George H. and Nancy Anne Stanley Standley, and was born in Van Buren county on Sept. 3, 1891. He was married to the late Carrie Clark in 1915.

Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Darold Standley, Hialeah, Fla.; Mrs. Hazel Bickley, Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. Leona Olson, La Mesa, Calif., and Mrs. Enid Barnett, of Fairfield.

Also surviving are a brother and a sister: Charles Standley, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Laura Stark, of Novelty, Mo., and 16 grandchildren.

A son, two daughters, two brothers, and two sisters died previously.
