Donald Turpin

Donald Turpin, 29, a former Birmingham resident passed away Wednesday, June 28 at his home in Atlanta, Ga. after a long illness. He was the youngest of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Turpin. Born at Libertyville, Ia. Oct. 9, 1921 the family moved to Lansing, Mich.

He was married in Lansing to Ruth Slachta, who survives, with their two daughters, Karen 14 and Cindy 7. The family has lived in Atlanta for the past ten years where Donald served as a manufacturer's representative.

Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. L.E. Turpin of Fairfield; four sisters, Mrs. Lorraine Maddux(Maddix) of Libertyville, Mrs. Florence Crawley of Hollywood, Fla., Mrs. Lenore Doughty of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Frances Wilson of Birmingham and two brothers, Addis and Arden Turpin of Lansing, Mich. His father is deceased.

Services were held Saturday, July 1 in Lansing, Mich. with burial in Lansing's Memorial Lawn cemetery.

The deceased was a veteran of World War II.
