Clarence R. Wilson, 71, West Point RR 1, died Thursday, June 29 at 8:15 p.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Ft. Madison, after an illness of one year.

Born Aug. 28, 1889, in Henry county, he was a farmer and had lived in Lee county for 45 years. He was married to Frances Mary Donnolly on Dec. 21, 1910.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Virgil, Memphis, Mo., Forrest, Bonaparte and Clifford, West Point; two daughters Mrs. Richard (Ila) Newton, Ft. Madison RR 1, and Mrs. Wayne (Sue) Salsberry, Ft. Madison; two brothers, Herbert, Spokane, Wash., and Elmer, Sprague, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie L. Parsons, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Bertha McFarland, Bridgeport, Nebr.; and 14 grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Wilson, he was preceded in death by a brother, Oren, in 1936.

The funeral was held Sunday, July 2 at 3 p.m. in Clements Chapel, Ft. Madison with the Rev. Roy Ives officiating. Burial was in the Williamson cemetery.
