OTTO H. SALTZGAVER

Otto Hamlin Satlzgaver, son of Samuel and Hannah O'Neil Saltzgaver, was born Feb. 28, 1861, and departed this life Jan. 1, 1942, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was a life long resident of Croton, except for the last two years when he had spent much of his time in the Graham hospital in Keokuk where he passed away.

He followed his father in the merchandise business at Croton, until 1908, when he retired from that business.

He was married to Lillian May Hancock Nov. 10, 1886, at Athens, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 30, 1909. He was later married to Adeline Harlan, who passed away in 1937. One daughter and two brothers preceded him in death.

He had been a lifelong member of the Croton Methodist church. He is survived by four children, two sons, Lester of Eldon, Iowa, and Jack of Keokuk, Iowa, two daughters, Myrtle McCarty of Keokuk and Laura Mast of Croton. He also leaves to mourn his passing eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, Harry, of Genoa, Colo., one sister, Mrs. J.L. Johnson of Croton, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Croton Methodist church Saturday, Jan. 3, conducted by the Rev. John S. (handwritten: ELLIS. Burial Croton Cemetery.)
