BRUCE BOYER PERKINS
Bruce Boyer Perkins, son of Al[?] and Isabel Perkins was born in Bonaparte township, Van Buren county, Iowa, December 14, 1889, and died Little Rock, Arkansas, Monday, Feb. 4, 1907, aged seventeen years, 1 month, and twenty-one days.
He was working for the Rock Island and contracted a severe case of swamp fever. He went to a hospital at Little Rock where he died a few days later, none of his relatives being present.
He leaves to mourn their loss a father and one brother, Charles A[?]ter 4-1/2 months old, a brother two years old, and his mother preceded him in death.
The remains were shipped to Bonaparte and a funeral service held at the Presbyterian church Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 o'clock P.M., Rev. Jas. Clark officiating, with interrment [sic] in the Bonaparte cemetery.
He was educated in the public schools of Bonaparte and for several months worked in the printing office of same town. He left here during the sun mer [sic] to seek employment elsewhere. His many young friends here sympathize with the father and brother in their bereavement.
The funeral service was very largely attended, the church being too small to accommodate those who desired to attend. Rev. Clark used as a text [?] words: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth."
The Royal Neighbors lodge attended the funeral services in a body taking seats immediately behind the mourners.
