Clara Frances Corns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.H. Corns, was born in Bentonsport, Iowa, June 17th, 1878. Married to Mr. Ohmer Leffler, Dec. 17, 19[torn]. Died, Feb. 20, 1904. Deceased had always lived in Bentonsport where she was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her friends were numbered among both old and young--"to know her was to love her." She was of a loving disposition and was the light of her parental home. She had been a bride but two short weeks when she was stricken with typhoid fever, of which she had always had a dread. But when informed by her physician that she was a victim of that dread disease, she said she had no fear even of death. She was a patient sufferer through all her lingering illness, and seemed more thoughtful of her mother's burdens than of her own illness. God called her home and death has plucked another flower from earth to sparkle as a jewel in Heaven. The young bride of a few weeks has passed from earth and left her husband, father, mother, three brothers and a sister to mourn their loss. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Duty, were held at the Presbyterian church and her body was laid to rest in the Bentonsport cemetery.
