MRS. OSCAR BREWSTER
-------------------
Pearl May, daughter of Frederick and Caroline Dake, was born June 16, 1876 in Johnson county, Ind. Her parents moved to Mountain Grove, Mo., when she was a child and a few years later to the Center Chapel neighborhood where she lived her life except for the last few years which were spent in Iowa City, Iowa.On April 15, 1896, she was united in marriage to Edward W. Cox. To this union were born one daughter and three sons. Her daughter, Augusta May, died in infancy and her husband on April 30, 1904.
On August 18, 1908, she was united in marriage to Oscar M. Brewster. Mrs. Brewster had been in failing health for three years, courageously and cheerfully bearing her affliction. She passed from this life on Feb. 18, 1928, at Iowa City.
She is survived by her husband and three sons, Harold, Leslie and Glen, by her brother and four sisters, Margaret and Charles of Washington, Laura of Colorado, Jeretta of California, and Zeda of Texas, and by many other more distant relatives and friends.
She was a member and faithful worker in the Center Chapel M. E. church during her whole life.
Funeral services were held at the Center Chapel, near Keosauqua, Iowa on Feb. 21, 1928, and were conducted by Rev. Gilbert of Milton. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
