E. Ramsey Rites Set

Charles E. Ramsey, native of Van Buren County and a former resident of Fairfield, died Friday at Phoenix, Arizona, following an illness since April.

The casket is being returned to the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua where last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Harold Schnedler will officiate and burial will be in Kilbourne Cemetery.

The body is scheduled to arrive at the funeral home in Keosauqua Sunday night.

Charles E. "Chuck" Ramsey was born Feb. 28, 1918, near Kilbourne in Van Buren County. He was the son of Nelson and Ruth Steele Ramsey.

He graduated from the Keosauqua High School in 1936 and was married June 11, 1938, to Wilda Manning of Fairfield. She survives.

Ramsey was a member of the maintenance department at Parsons College for a number of years before moving to Arizona in 1960. He was a school custodian at the time of his death.

In addition to his widow Ramsey is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Janet Jensen, Phoenix; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Gilbert and Mrs. Kathryn Schafer both of Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one sister and one brother.
