HENHAM R. NELSON

Benham R. Nelson was born Feb. 26, 1850, in Virginia and departed this life at the Jefferson county hospital Jan. 16, 1940, at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Many years of his life were spent in Van Buren county, having lived at Selma, Stockport and Birmingham.

Mr. Nelson had been in good health until about a year ago. During the later years he lived in the Birmingham community where he made many friends because of his kindly acts and friendly manner.

Mr. Nelson leaves to mourn his death five sons, George of Portland, Oregon, Andrew and Arthur of Fairfield, John and Harry of Chicago; three daughters, Rose, Leola and Gladys of Chicago; Mrs. Nelson having preceded him in death March 17, 1917, and three children died in infancy. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, besides a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the Catcott funeral home in charge of Jay N. Waterman Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial was at the Iowaville cemetery.
