Obituary of Warren Cunningham

Warren Hill Cunningham, son of Samuel and Matilda Hill Cunningham, was born at Wheeling, West Virginia, December 7, 1859 and died at his home at Des Moines, Iowa, February 18, 1923, at the age of 63 years 2 months and 11 days.

His early life was spent at Monmouth, Ill., moving to Birmingham, Iowa, the spring of 1884. In early manhood he united with the Henderson United Presbyterian church near Monmouth. In this connection he remained during his lifetime.

He was united in marriage with Miss Helen Boon, April 13, 1890, who died February 25, 1895. To this union was born one daughter, Hazel. He married Mrs. Emma Partridge of Creston, Iowa, who preceded him in death September 18, 1922.

He leaves to mourn his departure one daughter, Hazel Caruthers, near Douds, Iowa; stepdaughter, Mrs. Carrie Duffy of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Harry, Helen and Fred Caruthers; three sisters, Mary Cole of Birmingham, Iowa, Carrie Claybaugh of Republic City, Nebraska, Irene Boon of Birmingham; three brothers, Benjamin and James of Moulton, Iowa, and John of Tingley, Iowa.

The funeral service were conducted Sunday morning, the 25th, at 11 o'clock, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Cole, by Rev. F.C. Behner, pastor of the Fred Methodist church, from the text, Isaiah 28:1. Special songs, the 23d and 103d Psalms, were sung by Mrs. Ogden, Miss Calhoun, Ezra Williams and M.D. Hope. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery.
