OBITUARY OF OTTO BREWSTER
---------------
Otto Calvin Brewster, son of Hardin and Mary Francis Brewster, was born on a farm in Vernon township, Van Buren county, Iowa, Feb. 20, 1880, and after a brief illness passed away at the St. Joseph hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, May 4, 1922, at the age of 42 years, 2 months and 14 days. The first break in this family circle was caused by the death of the mother, Sept. 7, 1921, Otto being the next--the first of the large family of nine children to pass to the great beyond. He grew to manhood on the farm near Center Chapel, with which church he united when a boy. He was united in marriage to Miss Edna Willetts Dec. 22, 1909, at Mt. Sterling, by L. G. Cummins. This union was blessed by the birth of twin sons, Oct 26, 1912. These sons, Howard and Harold, have been the pride of the father's heart. After marriage he lived for a time on a farm near Willet Station, later purchasing the farm which is now the home. While living on this farm in northern Missouri he has made many friends in the locality, being ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever there was need of assistance. In connection with his farm, he operated a blacksmith shop, having much experience in that line also.
He leaves to sorrow, the wife, two little boys, his aged father, six brothers, two sisters, several nieces and nephews, and a large number of more distant relatives. The brothers are Oscar, Clyde, Harvey and Arthur, of Keosauqua, and Oran and Howard, of Colorado. The sisters are Mrs. Lucy Harryman, of near Douds-Leando, and Mrs. Crete Finn, of near Bentonsport.
Funeral services were held at the Mt. Sterling M. E. church at one o'clock May 7, in charge of his pastor, James R. Shultz, of Granger, Mo. The pallbearers were chosen from the many kind friends and neighbors.
