SIDNEY FOWLER
KEOSAUQUA -- Sidney Fowler, 68, of Lake Mary, Fla., a native of Van Buren County, died in a Winter Park Hospital early Monday.
The casket will be brought to the Burnett-Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Services will be held at the Center Chapel near here, Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. E. S. Tschetter will be in charge. Burial will be in the Center Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Fowler was born May 22, 1895, in the Center Chapel community, the son of Lewis and Emma Heminger Fowler. He was married to Letha Matterson of Keosauqua. She survives.
Other survivors are two brothers, Lewis Jr., and Marius of near Keosauqua; three sisters, Mrs. Leslie Dickson of Keosauqua; Mrs. Fannie Houston of San Bernardino, Calif.; and Mrs. Meribah Ruebel of Council Bluffs.
Mr. Fowler had the distinction of owning the first airplane in this area and took his plane to the county fairs where people paid for rides. He was a veteran of World War I, and later was employed in airplane work in Chicago and Florida. He held a pilot's license until reaching retirement age.

ADD'L NOTES: Sidney Fowler died 18 May 1964. His wife was Letha Rose MATHESON. I am interested in corresponding with anyone researching this family.
