MRS. FERN GRIFFITHS
Keosauqua-- Mrs. Gladys Griffiths, 65, died Friday about 6 p.m. at Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since July 7.
She was born near Keosauqua May 18, 1899, the daughter of Grant and Stella Lazenby Higdon. She married Fern Griffiths Nov. 29, 1917, and he died in July 1957.
She was a member of the Christian Church and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. For several years she had been employed at Brothers Drug Store.
Survivors include a son, David of Keosauqua; one grandson, two brothers, Lee Higdon of Greenwood, Ind., and Edward Higdon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. George Regur of Keosauqua, Mrs. Ken Jensen of South San Bernardino, Calif.; and Mrs. John Workman of Ashland, Va.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Christian Church with H.C. Shaw, elder of Cantril, officiating with the assistance of Jack Armstrong, pastor. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery.
