Mrs. Martha Wilson, an old resident of Bonaparte, Iowa, died at her home Sunday, Sept. 15, 1912, after an illness extending over a period of several years, her age being 80 years, 6 months and 4 days. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Jane Wood, and was born at Carroll county, Ohio, March 11, 1832. In 1844, at the age of twelve, she with her parents, came to Bonaparte, Iowa, where she had since resided. She was united in marriage to William C. Wilson, July 5, 1854, and to this union were born three sons and three daughters. In 1872 she united with the Baptist church where she retained her membership until death. she was a faithful christian, her religion proving itself in her never failing goodness to the family of children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends, always indeed a "mother to them all." She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Walter R., Mrs. Alice Meredith, and Frank of Bonaparte, Iowa, Mrs. Kate Bell and William of Keokuk, Iowa, and Mrs. Hanah Saunders of Bonaparte, along with nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Besides the husband and children she also leaves one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Sturdivant of Centerville, Iowa, all of whom were present at the bedside when she peacefully passed away. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Smith, pastor of the Baptist church, were held at 2 p. m., Sept. 18, after which interment was made in the Bonaparte cemetery.
