MISS ALICE CHENEY DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Word has been received by friends in Keosauqua of the death of Miss Alice Cheney at Pasadena, Calif. on Friday, March 15. Death was attributed to a heart attack as she started up her porch steps, upon returning from a PEO meeting.
She was bron [sic] at Keosauqua, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Cheney. Her father was minister of the Keosauqua Methodist church many years ago. She graduated from the Keosauqua school and Iowa Wesleyan college at Mt. Pleasant. Following her college graduation, she spent more than 20 years as a Missionary in Japan.
She is survived by a sister-in-law and a niece in Connecticut and cousins.
Services were held at Pasadena on Wednesday, March 20.
