OBITUARY

Nicholas G. Watson

Nicholas G. Watson, son of John and Carrie Ann Watson, was born March 31, 1863, near Hillsboro, Van Buren county, Iowa. Departed this life January 6th, 1934, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and ?? days. He was the last of the family of seven children and lived to be the oldest.

On Dec. 24th, 1885, he was united in marriage with Naomi Jane Wilson, daughter of John H. and Elizabeth Wilson near Glasgow, Ia. To this union were born three children, Carl Raymond, Ethel May, living near home, and Marie E., the youngest preceding him in death in the year of 1913 at the age of 15 years. Besides his immediate family he leaves to mourn their loss, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The last four years of his life have been that of affliction having several strokes and from the last ??? he never rallied. Though he came a great care, he leaves a vacant place which none other can (fill). but with aching hearts and (eyes) blinded by tears, we have humbly said, "Thy will be done."

Besides those mentioned there are a host of relatives and friends that will sadly miss him.
