Claude Elerick Commits Suicide

Funeral Services for World War Veteran Will Be Held in Keosauqua at 10 o'clock TodayClaude Elerick committed suicide at the home of his mother, Mrs. William Elerick, in Keosauqua Tuesday afternoon. A rifle was found beside the body. Despondency is thought to have been the contributing cause.
Mr. Elerick was 44 years old and was a World War veteran. He is said to have been subject to melancholia throughout the period following the war.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Weaver of Birmingham; his mother; four brothers, George E. Elerick of Davenport, Kern of Wittemore, Colin of Salem, Ore. and Freed of Keosauqua, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Crowe of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Burnett funeral home in Keosauqua at 10 o'clock this morning by the Rev. C.H. Orf. Burial will be at Purdom cemetery.
