JACOB H. BENNETT.

BONAPARTE. - Funeral services for Jacob H. Bennett, 86, lifelong resident of this vicinity who died January 13, were held Saturday afternoon in the Bonaparte Baptist church, with the Rev. Jerry Beltz, pastor, conducting the service. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery.

He was a son of Jacob and Delia Bennett, and was born in Harrisburg township, a few miles north of Bonaparte, on June 30, 1868. He was married to Miss Etna Roberts, who died in 1936. He was later married to Mrs. Stella Woods, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Howard Bennett of Keokuk; a daughter, Mrs. John Pfeifer of Bonaparte, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

He was a contractor and builder and cabinet maker for many years after retiring from the farm in Harrisburg township north of Bonaparte.
