CHARLES W. BENNETT

Charles W. Bennett, 69, of Fairfield, died Friday at the University hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient since Nov. 1.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Bennett, he was born July 1, 1880, in Van Buren county. His marriage to Doris Jackson took place July 2, 1915, in Ottumwa. A resident of Ottumwa for several years, he was a member of the old Main Street Methodist church there. He had made his home in Fairfield for 26 years and had been employed at the Burlington ordnance plant and by the Dexter company in Fairfield.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife and three brother, M.J. Bennett of Shallow Water, Kan., George of Bonaparte and Edward of Cantril.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Behrner(sp) funeral home in Fairfield with the Rev. S.P. Williamson officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Memorial Lawn cemetery.
