SOPHIA BENNETT ENDERSBY

Sophia Bennett Endersby was born near Big Mound, Iowa, Jan. 12, 1880, the daughter of Jacob Bennett and Delilah Miller Bennett.

On March 15, 1900, she was united in marriage to Alfred Endersby of near Hillsboro, who preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1942. To this union was born two children, a daughter, Lela, who died in infancy and a son, Melvin who resides near Hillsboro.

She lived all her life on the Endersby farm where she was taken as a bride.

She departed this life Sept. 12, 1945, after a long illness at the age of 65 years and 8 months leaving to mourn her loss her immediate family, son Melvin and wife and Miss Emma Hammans who has been one of the family for 45 years, and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Chaney of Milton, Iowa, and Mrs. Lida Cooper of Hillsboro, and one brother Jacob Bennett of Bonaparte, also several nieces and nephews.

A loving mother and wife, living an honest and industrious life, her loss will be mourned by her many friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at Hillsboro Baptist church Saturday afternoon with burial in Hillsboro cemetery. Rev. C.L. Nellis, pastor of the Friends church at Salem, was officiating pastor.
