MISS MABEL WILEY

KEOSAUQUA. -- Miss Mabel Wiley, 80, of near Mount Sterling, died Saturday about 1:15 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua. She had been ill two years.

Born Feb. 14, 1883, near Mount Sterling, she was the daughter of John and Eliza Bowles Wiley. At the age of three she went to live with her grandparents on the farm where she had lived since.

One of four children, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Survivors include cousins.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Burnett-Catcott Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Eis of Milton officiating. Burial will be in Prall Cemetery, southeast of Keosauqua.

ADD'L INFO: Mabel and her brother Stanley went to live with her paternal grandparents because her mother died in childbirth and her father was a travelling salesman. Her sisters Stella and Gertie went to live with their maternal grandparents. I would like further details of this family.
