MRS. WILLIAM FRIEND

ELDON. -- Mrs. Grace O. Friend, 86, a former resident of Eldon, has died in Long Beach, Calif.

She was born June 8, 1876, in Bonaparte, the daughter of John and Mary Brown Cresap. She had lived in Eldon for many years, moving to California in 1945.

She was a 50-year member of Grand Hope Chapter of Eastern Star. She was married to William W. Friend who died in 1944.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home with the Rev. John Falconer officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.

The body will arrive at the funeral home early Thursday morning.

NOTE: California Death Records (Rootsweb database) states she died 22 Dec 1962 Los Angeles County, California and birthdate agrees with obituary.

(Photocopy of this obit is located on page 169 of Obit Book B found in the Van Buren County, IA Genealogical Society's collection at the Keosauqua Public Library in July 1999. Name of newspaper not given, however a handwritten date of 1962 is written on the obit.)
