Another pioneer citizen of Bonaparte who had reached the age of ninety has passed to his reward. Hazard A. Whitmore, born Oct. 11, 1847, died Monday night of this week at his home north of Bonaparte, on the same farm on which he was born more than ninety-one years ago.

His wife, formerly Lydia Ann Leavitt, preceded him in death on April 8th of this year at the age of eightyeight years and nine months.

Surviving are four sons, G. E. and C. E. Whitmore of Oak Park, Ill., H. L. Whitmore of Bonaparte, Iowa, and Bruce Whitmore of Colorado.

Mr. Whitmore was for years a farmer but he was also well known as a manufacturer of brick and as a contractor and builder. He served his county in the office of county supervisor.

Funeral services are to be held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church in Bonaparte, Rev. L. E. Winfrey officiating.
