LEWIS MCDONALD
KEOSAUQUA--Lewis McDonald, 80, died today about 1:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital. He had sustained a stroke April 12.
Born at West Branch Dec. 20, 1884, he was the son of Frank and Josephine Dowell McDonald. When he was a small boy, the family moved to Keosauqua and for 57 years he had been the local drayman. On July 18, 1906, he married Sadie Elizabeth Dowell, who survives.
Besides the widow, survivors include two sons, Clyde of Detroit, Mich., and Duward of Keosauqua; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Lee of Ottumwa and Mrs. James Glen of Detroit; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Rena Nelson of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Harold Elliott of Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. Goldie Slutts of Ottumwa.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church with the Rev. E. S. Tschetter officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery.
