MRS. EDWARD H. WALKER

KEOSAUQUA -- Mrs. Catherine Agnes Walker, 86, of Keosauqua, died at 2:40 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. She had suffered a broken hip on Oct. 19.

Born near Earlville, Ill., on Nov. 3, 1879, she was the daughter of Patrick and Margaret Colligan Madden. Her marriage to Edward W. Walker of Stockport took place Sept. 11, 1902. He died Jan. 1, 1944. They had moved to Keosauqua in 1943.

Mrs. Walker was a teacher in Illinois rural schools prior to coming to Van Buren County in 1900, where she continued to teach.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin and Merlin Walker of Ottumwa and Edwin Walker of Keosauqua; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Regur of Keosauqua and Mrs. Myrtle Rehkopf of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchldren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ennis Rogers of Blue Island, Ill. Four sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

The service is tentatively set for Saturday at 2 p.m. with burial in Smith Cemetery east of Birmingham. The body is at Catcott Funeral Home.
