Mrs. Francis Woods

Doris Glee White, daughter of Charles and Ella White, was born at Blakesburg, Iowa, October 12, 1917, and passed away at her home in Farmington, Iowa, Aug. 31, 1949, being 31 years, nine months and nineteen days.

She was graduated from the Ottumwa high school in 1936. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Farmington. She was united in marriage to Francis Woods at Linneus, Mo., June 23, 1938. To this union one daughter was born, Virginia Beth, 16 months old.

She was of a genial disposition and made friends readily. Many will testify that it was a delight to know her. Her health began to fail about a year ago and for the past three weeks she has been a constant sufferer.

She is survived by her husband Francis, her daughter Virginia Beth, her father and mother, Charles and Ella White of Blakesburg, Iowa; five brothers, Wilfred, Richard, Donald of Blakesburg, Forrest, and Gerald in the service stationed in Illinois; one sister, Mabel Proctor of Drakesville, Iowa. These with a number of near relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Farmington Methodist church Friday afternoon, Rev. Fay Marritt, pastor of the church in charge of the services. Those acting as flower girls were Dorothy Tucker, Verna Knedler, Alice Hagnagel, all of Farmington. Ushers Juanita Sumner, of Eldon, and Martha Kelly of Ottumwa. Pallbearers were Nelson Poole of Milan, Mo., Robert Woodward of Des Moines, Charles Hickenbottom, Harold Cartnal and Paul Knedler of Farmington, Edward Kelly of Ottumwa.

The body was laid to rest in the Farmington cemetery, with the Eastern Star rites at the grave.
