Minnie May Aylor

Minnie May Beer, daughter Andrew J. and Emma George Stephens Beer, was born Jan. 12, 1882, near Center Chapel. She was raised in the Center Chapel neighborhood and regularly attended the Center Chapel church and always lived a truly Christian life. At the death of her mother she remained in the home to care for her brothers and sisters.

On June 18, 1905, she was united in marriage to Cass Ray Aylor in the Christian parsonage at Keosauqua by the Rev. W.L. Post. To this union were born two sons, Kermit and Richard Aylor of Keosauqua and one daughter, Mrs. Jess Struble of Dodge City, Kansas.

She was a devoted wife and mother and her whole life was centered in her home. She was a good neighbor and always ready and willing to give a helping hand to those in sickness or trouble.

On Sept. 23, she suffered a stroke, from which she never fully recovered. She was tenderly cared for in her last illness by her daughter, sister and daughters-in-law. She passed away at her home in Keosauqua on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to her husband and three children she is survived by five granddaughters, Mrs. Raymond Moore, Mrs. Orville Rushing and Betty and Donna Struble, all of Dodge City, Kansas, and Miss Marilyn Aylor of Keosauqua and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willis Beer of Center Chapel and Kenneth Beer of Chicago and two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Brewster of Keosauqua and Miss Ora Beer of Ames.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 2 o'clock in the Center Chapel church in charge of the Rev. Walter Llewellyn. Music was by Keith Gaston accompanied by Mrs. Gaston. Pallbearers were Dale Wiley, Kendall Roberts, Hugh Blackburn, Leslie Fahrner, Harry McIntosh and Fuller Bartholomew. Burial was in the Center Chapel cemetery.
