Mr. D.M. Boley, 99, a resident of Keosauqua since January, 1960 and one of Van Buren county's oldest residents passed away at 12:50 p.m. Sunday at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua. He had entered the hospital on Nevember(sp) 2. Mr. Boley, who had never been hospitalized before had enjoyed goo health until recently.

A retired farmer, David Mark Boley was born near McVeigh in Cedar township in Van Buren county on May 27, 1866, the son of Nicholas and Hannah Smitz Boley. His grandparents were early settlers of the Hillsboro area. He is the last surviving member of a family of eight children.

Mr. Boley was married on Oct. 27, 1891 to Dora A. Campbell. They had one son, Harve N. Boley who is a retired farmer living near Hillsboro and a foster son and nephew, Mark Boley McCoy of Keosauqua, whom they took to rear when he was but eight days old. Mrs. Boley died in 1938 and on September 9, 1939. Mr. Boley married Ada Cuddy. The couple resided at Centerville, Ia., until her death in 1948. He lived with his son, Harve, near Hillsboro before making his home with his foster son Mark B. McCoy in Keosauqua.

Surviving besides the two sons are ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church. Officiating was Reverend O.T. Wilson, Mt. Pleasant, and Reverend David Deircks, Hillsboro. The body was taken to the Behner Funeral Home in Funeral Home in Fairfield and then moved to the H.N. Boley home near Hillsboro, Monday morning. Burial was in the Hillsboro cemetery.
