W.A. COPELAND

William Alonzo Copeland, son of James Lewis and Eliza Copeland, was born in Shelby county, Ind., on August 8, 1851. He departed this life at his home near Fairfield Aug. 30, 1933, at the age of 82 years and 22 days. He came to Iowa in 1871 where he has since resided with the exception of six year spent in Kansas. He was united in marriage to Sarah M. Huff Sept. 12, 1878. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Ida Pickerel of Batavia, Mrs. Nellie Skirvin of Stockport, Orrin, who preceded him in death June 19, 1919, Earl of Ottumwa, Lewis and Carried of Fairfield.

The funeral services were held in the Competine Christian church, with burial in the Competine cemetery.
