Virginia M. Sable, age 87 of Fairfield, died November 24, 2016, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

She was born April 19, 1929, in rural Farmington, IA, the daughter of George and Fern Muntz Wells.

Virginia grew up in the Farmington community and graduated from Farmington High School in 1949. She married Roy C. Sable on June 5, 1960, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA.

She lived in the Packwood community until moving to Fairfield in 2002. She worked in domestic service and was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield.

Deceased family members include her husband on November 16, 2001, and her parents.

Surviving are two stepsons: Ronald Sable and wife Patsy of Tucson, AZ, and Robert Sable and his wife Jean of Waverly, IA; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren, plus several cousins.

Cremation has been accorded and burial at the Packwood Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
