Stroke Is Fatal To Birmingham Woman

Mrs. Lillian Martin, 76, of Birmingham, passed away Feb. 27, 1948, in the home of Mrs. Addie Hibbard, who had been caring for her for the past several weeks. Death came at 10 p.m. following a stroke suffered earlier.

Mrs. Martin was born in Kentucky, April 1, 1871. She was married to Frank Martin, who preceded her in death October 6, 1945. Six sisters also preceded her in death. She had no children, but is survived by Elizabeth Taylor Hewitt, whom she reared after taking her into her home at the age of eighteen months.

Funeral services were held at the Catcott funeral home Monday, March 1, 1948, at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. J.R. Crandall. Burial in Mt. Moriah cemetery, north of Douds.
